NEW DELHI: A Swiggy delivery man has become the talk of the town after a
viral video
caught him stealing shoes in a
Gurugram society
on Tuesday.
The video, shared by a user on the
social media
platform 'X,' has sparked outrage, prompting discussions on the integrity of
delivery services
. "Swiggy’s drop and PICK up service. A delivery boy just took my friend’s shoes (Nike) and they won’t even share his contact (sic)," reads the caption of the post.
After unsuccessfully reaching out to the company, the individual behind the video expressed frustration on social media. It wasn't until the video went viral that the food delivery company issued a response, expressing disappointment in the actions of their delivery partner.
"Hey Rohit, we expect better from our delivery partners. Do meet us on DM, so we can assist you better (sic)," Swiggy wrote.
Users expressed anger, stating that Swiggy's
customer service
, known as "Swiggy Cares," is consistently ineffective. They believe that unless they take legal action, Swiggy won't disclose any information or take their complaints seriously, even for an
internal investigation
. This reflects their dissatisfaction with the company's approach to addressing such incidents.
"@Swiggy will offer you a 20% discount, up to 35 rupees, on your next order (sic)," a user wrote in comments.
"Now he can deliver food even faster & smoother without giving pain to his legs. Thanks to @Nike shoes (sic), " another user wrote.
