Son accused of fatally shooting his father in Jersey City: Officials

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PIX11) – A 25-year-old is accused of fatally shooting his father in Jersey City, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.

Gerard Brooker Sr., 52, was found with multiple gunshot wounds inside a home on Wade Street, officials said. He was pronounced dead on the scene around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, officials said.

His son, 25-year-old Gerard Brooker Jr., was arrested hours later in Manhattan and charged with murder and weapons charges, according to Suarez.

Officials are still investigating the shooting.
