Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday said MLAs withdrawing support from Nayab Singh Saini-led state government would have no impact in the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He also asserted several MLAs were in touch with his government.

Khattar's statement came hours after three Independent MLAs on Tuesday withdrew support to the BJP government in Haryana.

The MLAs also announced they would back the Congress, reducing the Nayab Singh Saini government to a minority in the state assembly.

Speaking to reporters on the same, Khattar today said, "There will be no impact of who is going where amid the election season. Several MLAs are in touch with us too. No one should worry about this."

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's government, which has the support of two other Independents, is now two short of the majority mark in the 90-member House, which has a current strength of 88.
