LONDON: A second man has been charged with the

murder

of Indian restaurant manager

Vignesh Raman

in Reading.
Soiheem Hussain (27) of Rossby, Shinfield, appeared at Reading crown court on Monday charged with one count of murder in connection with the death of

Vignesh

Pattabi Raman (36), manager of South Indian restaurant Vel, who was found in Addington Road, Reading, on Valentine’s Day following a collision between his bike and a vehicle.

Hussain is the second man to be charged with Raman’s murder. Shazeb Khalid (24), of no fixed abode, had appeared in the same court on Feb 22, also charged with Raman’s murder. Neither entered a plea. Both were remanded in custody.
Raman, an Indian citizen from IOB Colony near Marudhamalai, Coimbatore, was declared dead at Royal Berkshire Hospital and a murder investigation was launched.

Hussain and Khalid will appear at Reading crown court on March 20 to enter their pleas. A three-week trial by jury has been fixed for Aug 5 should either of them enter a not guilty plea.
Several people remain under police investigation.
A 20-year-old woman from Reading was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Feb 21 and has been released on bail.
Seven men, aged 20, 21, 24, 27, 31, 41 and 48, all from Reading, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Feb 19 and have been released on bail.
