Chairman of the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Gary Gensler has refrained from publicly disclosing the SEC's classification of Ethereum as either a security or a commodity. The SEC’s position on Ethereum could be a defining factor in whether or not the regulator would approve Ethereum ETFs.
