NEW DELHI: The

Seattle Seahawks

made significant roster moves on Tuesday, parting ways with three key players:

Jamal Adams

,

Quandre Diggs

, and

Will Dissly

.
Jamal Adams, a three-time

Pro Bowl safety

, was released along with fellow safety Quandre Diggs and tight end Will Dissly. This decision will provide the Seahawks with substantial financial relief, saving approximately $34.5 million in cash and creating significant cap space for future roster moves.

Adams, 28, had a solid but injury-plagued tenure with the Seahawks. Despite making nine starts in 2023 and recording 48 tackles, his impact was limited due to injuries. The former first-round pick in 2017 amassed impressive stats over his career, including 494 tackles, 21.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, and four interceptions in 80 games. However, with a hefty base salary of $16.5 million and a cap hit of $26.9 million for 2024, the Seahawks made the difficult decision to move on from him.

Quandre

Diggs

, 31, started all 17 games for the Seahawks last season, contributing 95 tackles and one interception. Known for his versatility and playmaking ability, Diggs provided stability in the secondary. However, his release will save the Seahawks an additional $800,000 in cap space.
Tight end Will Dissly, 27, played a valuable role in the Seahawks' offense, especially as a reliable pass-catcher. In 2023, he caught 17 passes for 172 yards and one touchdown in 16 games. With a base salary of $6.49 million for 2024, Dissly's release will save the Seahawks $6.97 million against the cap.

These roster moves signify a significant shift for the Seahawks as they aim to restructure their team and allocate resources effectively. While parting ways with key players is never easy, it provides an opportunity for Seattle to address other areas of need and build for the future.
