NEW DELHI: In a major breakthrough in the Sandeshkhali molestation and land grabbing case, the chief accused and

TMC

leader Shahjahan Sheikh has been arrested by the

West Bengal police

. He had been absconding for over 50 days.
According to reports, he was apprehended from the Minakhan area in North 24 Parganas.
"TMC leader

Sheikh Shahjahan

was arrested by the West Bengal Police from the Minakhan area in North 24 Parganas and taken to Basirhat Court," said SDPO of Minakhan, Aminul Islam Khan.
