Salghari-Zoom Assembly Election Result 2024: SKM's Madan Cintury wins

NEW DELHI: Madan Cintury of Sikkim Krantikari Morcha has won the Salghari-Zoom seat, having polled 5,678 votes.
Salghari-Zoom Assembly constituency, nestled in the picturesque landscapes of Sikkim, holds prominence as one of the 32 assembly constituencies in the state. It constitutes an integral part of the Sikkim Lok Sabha constituency, playing a pivotal role in shaping the political landscape of the region.
In the 2019 Sikkim Legislative Assembly elections, Sunita Gajmer of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) emerged victorious with 4,400 votes, securing 49.27% of the total votes.

Dhan Kumari Kami of the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF) closely followed with 4,307 votes, constituting 48.23% of the votes. Similarly, in the 2014 elections, Arjun Kumar Ghatani of the SDF clinched victory with 4,250 votes, capturing 52.63% of the total votes, while Bhanu Pratap Rasaily of the SKM secured 3,471 votes, accounting for 42.98% of the votes.
The electoral landscape of Salghari-Zoom witnessed the assembly elections coincide with the Lok Sabha elections, fostering an environment of active political participation. Noteworthy candidates vying for the Salghari-Zoom assembly seat in the 2024 elections include Janga Bir Darnal from the Sikkim Democratic Front, Kaushal Lohagan from the Citizen Action Party-Sikkim, Madan Cintury from the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha, and Pahal Man Kami from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
