Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai
actor
Saanand Verma
is unhappy with the workings of the TV industry. The actor shared in a chat how the payment cycle only starts after three months of working in a show. Lapataganj actor is vocal about the uncertainty associated with the profession, too. He said, "There is no regularity in payments so far as
TV shows
are concerned.
Our payment cycle starts after three months of working in a show. In which profession do you see such a structure? Everyone else gets a monthly salary. We work everyday for four months and our salary starts coming after it. The 90-day pay structure in TV should be altered."
Saanand also shares how uncertainty is an important part of the profession. He said, "Showbiz is a very insecure profession. Whether you act in a commercial or a TV show, there is no guarantee of good work coming your way. You might be a great actor, but if you find an incompetent director, all your hard work goes to waste because of the bad direction. A very successful actor can become jobless overnight and sit at home doing nothing for years.”
Sharing how the actor loves doing negative roles, Saanand said, "Negative characters have more scope than positive ones. The reason being we always seek drama, and negativity brings drama to the show. If two positive people are sitting together, they will just be sitting and smiling, maybe reading books, or talking very gently in a relatively lower pitch. But when you show drama, people are shouting at each other. So, antagonist roles lend drama and entertainment. I want to do negative roles in future."
