Richa Chadha gave 99 retakes for 'Heeramandi': 'My score is the highest'

Actor Richa Chadha recently appeared on the latest episode of Kapil Sharma's Netflix series along with the Heeramandi cast, where she revealed that she gave not one or two, but 99 retakes for her dance sequence in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali web series. A clip where Richa claims she 'scored the highest' was posted by Netflix's social media handle.

In the said video, Heeramandi actors are seen comparing the number of retakes they had to give for their respective shots in the series. While both Aditi Rao Hydari and Sonakshi Sinha said they didn't have to give more than 12-13 retakes, Richa chimed in to say that she beat them all by scoring the highest number of retakes, 99.

Richa Chadha stated, "Mera jo best day tha, wo mera worst day bhi tha (My best day was also my worst day) My worst day became the best day of the shoot. My score is the highest when it comes to retakes -- during the dance sequence. 99. Main century maarte maarte ruki hoon (I stopped short of a century). It's not easy when you are dancing around 200- 300 extras who are watching you, and you are failing. But when you overcome that, then it's really a 'Wow, I didn't know I could do this' moment. And that's a great feeling."

Netflix shared the clip with a caption that read, "Richa really said I got 99 problems and they’re all retakes." As soon as the clip was posted, fans praised Richa for her dancing skills and dedication to her work. One user wrote, "Richa Chadha danced beautifully. I was actually surprised to see her dance in such an authentic manner because I didn't know she was a classical dancer." Another person commented, "She ate." "That dance sequence is the only one which I didn’t fast-forward," wrote yet another user.

Besides Richa, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar features an ensemble cast starring the likes of Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, and Taha Shah among others.

The series is currently streaming on Netflix.
