Ram Gopal Varma

recently admitted that he, along with the industry, initially doubted

Hrithik Roshan

's potential to become a star. This skepticism led to anticipation surrounding Hrithik's debut film, Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai. It was only after the film's massive success that Hrithik gained widespread recognition and respect in the industry.
Talking about it on his Youtube channel, he said, “When I saw Hrithik Roshan.

I didn’t think he would become a star. Most of the industry also did not think, because of which they didn’t sign him. Before his first film Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai released, nobody signed him. And once he became a superstar everybody is after him.”
While over the years Hrithik Roshan has cemented his position in the industry with films War, Dhoom 2, Jodha Akhar, Krissh etc, Ram Gopal Varma has been struggling to deliver a success. Back in the 90s and early 2000s RGV was one of the most prolific directors in the business having defined movie making with films like Shiva, Satya, Rangeela, Sarkar etc.
