has shared a valuable piece of advice he received from the current Indian men's team head coach
Rahul Dravid
.
In an interview with Star Sports's segment "Captains' Speak," Gill revealed, "'Always trust your game,' mujhe Rahul sir ne bola tha (Rahul sir once told me).
He has always advised me to trust in my preparation regardless of the situation. Just as a child takes small steps one after another, I have also followed that and things have gone so far as per my expectations. I prepare for whatever is next, game or series. I prepare my mindset accordingly."
Gill's IPL 2024 season has been a bumpy ride, with 183 runs scored so far in five innings, including a notable 48-ball 89 against Punjab Kings.
Gujarat Titans recently appointed Shubman Gill as their captain for the 2024 IPL season following
Hardik Pandya
's move back to Mumbai Indians.

With Pandya's departure confirmed, the 24-year-old opener Gill emerged as the natural choice for captaincy, having secured the coveted 'orange cap' in the previous season with 890 runs, second only to Virat Kohli's all-time record of 973.
Under Gill's leadership, the Gujarat Titans have secured victories in two out of five matches so far. Despite the team's mixed results, Gill's decision-making abilities have earned him some deserving praise.
