MUMBAI:

Prithvi Shaw

is set to again turn out for

Northamptonshire

- a county he represented last season -this summer. On April 16, the

Northamptonshire County Cricket Club

Shaw sought a No-Objection certificate from the

Mumbai Cricket Association

to play for the county from June 1 to September 30. The MCA is set to grant Shaw the NOC.
The 23-year-old, who was a part of Mumbai's Ranji Trophy-winning side in March and played for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL, is expected to play in the

County Championship

and

One-Day Cup

till the end of the rest of the season.

The dashing opener has played five Tests (339 [email protected], one hundred (on debut in 2018 against West Indies at Rajkot, 2 fifties), six ODIs (189 [email protected]) and One T20I for India. The Mumbaikar has scored 4253 runs in 50 First-Class [email protected], with 13 hundreds and 17 fifties.
In his first stint with the Northants last year, Shaw had been in blazing form, scoring 429 runs in four innings for Northants - including a record-breaking 244 off 153 balls against Somerset in a One-dayer, before a bad knee injury cut short his stay. He had last year itself signed a new deal with the county for the 2024 season.
"I'm so excited to be heading back to Northamptonshire next summer. Even though it was over quickly I really enjoyed my time there, it's a great club to be a part of and I felt so welcomed by everyone immediately. I can't wait to get back over," Shaw had said last year.

"My goal is always to help win games for the team and it was so disappointing to get injured and have to leave early this time. I had a few teams contacting me after the tournament wanting to talk about playing for them next year, but I feel like I still have more to achieve with Northamptonshire. They gave me the opportunity this year and I'm very happy to be coming back," Shaw had said.
