PM to inaugurate T3 of Amausi airport tomorrow

LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually

inaugurate

the newly constructed terminal three (

T3

) of Lucknow airport, from Azamgarh on Sunday.
Spread across 1.5 lakh sqm area with first phase terminal building construction on 1.17 lakh sqm, T3 is expected to handle domestic as well as international flights. Terminal one will be demolished, and in the second phase, another building will be constructed in 33,529 sqm area for cargo operations.
The new terminal has been built at the cost of Rs 1,628 crore and it will handle around 4,000 passengers in peak hour. The annual passenger handling capacity will be around 10 million. The two-level building of the terminal will have separate departures on the first floor and arrivals on the ground floor.
An elevated road has been provided for the approach to departure. There are 30 elevators and five escalators and 14 passenger boarding bridges in T3. The terminal has 1,500 vehicles parking facilities and has provisions of childcare room, first aid, smoking chamber, retiring rooms, retail/commercial outlets area, including duty-free shop.
The terminal will have 62 immigration counters and 72 check-in counters. It also has ramps at appropriate locations, ADA tiles for identification of way to be followed by blind people and separate toilets with friendly provisions.
