PM Modi cites crocodiles in Ken river to hail tech use in saving wildlife

PM Modi

in 'Mann Ki Baat', on Sunday highlighted how technology is being used extensively for the conservation of

wildlife

in different parts of our country, and cited several such examples including the ones where drones are being used to keep an eye on the

crocodiles

in the

Ken river

.
Referring to the usage of drones, developed by Rotor Precision Group in collaboration with Wildlife Institute of India and being used in habitat mapping, population estimation and monitoring of crocodiles in Ken Gharial Sanctuary in MP, Modi noted that there have been many examples where young entrepreneurs are working on new innovations for wildlife conservation.

Underlining use of AI, Modi said, "The help of AI is being taken to reduce conflict between humans and tigers in Maharashtra's Chandrapur.
