NEW DELHI: National Investigation Agency (

) on Friday arrested Popular Front of India (PFI) member Ghouse Niyazi, an absconding key conspirator in the 2016 Karnataka case related to the

murder

of

RSS leader

R Rudresh.
Nayazi was nabbed at Mumbai airport upon his arrival from

Tanzania

's Dar es Salaam. The team had prior inputs about Nayazi's arrival to India.
Rudresh, an RSS leader from Bengaluru, was hacked to death on Oct 16, 2016, by four members of the now banned PFI.

NIA probe into the case had revealed that the murder was part of a larger conspiracy hatched by Ghouse, president of Social Democratic Party of India, Hebbal constituency, and one Asim Sheriff.
According to a NIA statement, the duo motivated the other four accused to kill Rudresh with an intention to strike terror among the members of RSS and the society.
