BRYANT PARK, Manhattan (PIX11) -- One truck at a New York City landmark is letting foodies pay what they want for their favorite sweet and savory treats.
The American food company Newman's Own is launching its second annual "Pay What You Want" food truck at Bryant Park on Tuesday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. The tourquoise colored truck will be parked at 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
The truck will offer pizza, salads, cookies and drinks all at the price the buyer sets. Proceeds from the food truck will go to the Newman’s Own Foundation, an organization that helps kids facing adversity and food insecurity.
Bryant Park marks the first location of the "Pay What You Want" food truck tour across the East Coast.
The initiative first launched last year, serving pizza at more than 20 stops to test the model. Across all cities, customers chose to pay more than the average retail prices.
