Two beams of an under-construction bridge on the river Ganga collapsed in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr late on Friday, officials said. No casualties were reported in the incident.

District Magistrate (DM) CP Singh said the beams collapsed due to a storm.

The bridge was being built from Gajraula village in Bulandshahr to Virampur village in Amroha at a cost of Rs 83 crore.

The construction was being done under the supervision of the Public Works Department (PWD) and Setu Nigam.

The DM refuted allegations of using poor construction materials for the bridge.
