near Nirsa Chowk on GT Road in Dhanbad.
According to reports from officials, Rajesh and Sabita were en route from Gopalganj, Bihar, to Chittaranjan, West Bengal, when the accident occurred at around 4:30 PM near Nirsa Bazar on the Delhi-Kolkata National Highway-2.

Initial reports suggest that the accident unfolded as Rajesh, behind the wheel, attempted to avoid colliding with an auto-rickshaw at Nirsa Chowk, causing him to lose control of the vehicle, resulting in it mounting a three-foot-high divider. However, CCTV footage captures the moment the speeding white car rams into the divider.
Sources tell ETimes, "Rajesh Tiwari died while trying to save a woman who came in front of their car and in the process hit a block."

The couple were reportedly on their way to Kolkata to witness the filming of the Bollywood actor's latest film. Emergency services quickly transported the injured couple to Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad where Rajesh tragically succumbed to his injuries upon arrival. Sabita, on the other hand, who sustained a leg fracture and jaw injury, is reported to be in stable condition.
Sources confirm, "Pankaj travelled to Kolkata on Sunday morning to be by his sister's side. They are trying to get her moved from Dhanbad to Kolkata for further treatment."
