Pak intruder shot dead near border in Fazilka

FAZILKA: The

Border Security Force

(BSF) on Tuesday shot a Pakistan intruder when he was trying to sneak into the

Indian territory

on the intervening night of July 1 and 2 near Sadqi border outpost in Punjab's

Fazilka

district.
According to information, as the intruder tried to cross the border fencing, the BSF guard on duty challenged him.
But the miscreant continued to advance in aggressive posture following which the BSF guard fired upon him.

The intruder died on the spot having received three bullets' injuries.

When the place was searched at the first light of the day on Tuesday, the body of a young male, aged between 25 and 27, was recovered.
The BSF also found a purse, cigarettes, earphones and tobacco from his possession.
The BSF personnel immediately informed the officers.
Fazilka deputy superintendent of police Shubegh Singh said that a Pakistani citizen died during the firing following infiltration near the Sadqui post of the Indo-Pak border.

His body has been taken into custody for a postmortem.
Efforts are being made to identify the youth.
It is also being ascertained why he was entering the Indian border.
Meanwhile, during a meeting between the BSF officials and the Pakistan Rangers over the issue of handing over the body, Pakistan Rangers refused to take the body.
At present, the body of the Pakistani citizen has been kept in the mortuary of the Fazilka govt hospital.
