NEW DELHI: A private double-decker bus overturned near Dehmu village in Budaun, Uttar Pradesh early Tuesday around 1 am, killing the driver and injuring over 30 passengers. The bus was traveling from Bareilly to Jaipur when the accident occurred on Kachhla Road in Ujhani area.Senior Superintendent of Police Brijesh Kumar Singh stated the bus was carrying approximately 55 passengers, including women and children.The injured passengers were transported to the Community Health Centre in Ujhani and the Government Medical College in Badaun for treatment.The driver, identified as Sultan, 48, died during treatment. Several seriously injured passengers were transferred to Saifai Medical College, while those with minor injuries were discharged after treatment.Authorities have notified the families of both the injured passengers and the deceased driver.Local officials, including the District Magistrate and SSP, inspected the accident site and visited the injured at the hospital.The postmortem examination of the deceased driver is currently in progress.
