Odisha boat capsize toll rises to 8, cops arrest 2

JHARSUGUDA: Six more bodies were fished out of

Mahanadi river

in

Odisha

's

Jharsuguda

district on Saturday, taking Friday's boat capsize toll to eight. Two persons drowned on Friday.
Over 50 people from Jharsuguda had boarded the boat from Jharsuguda district to visit a temple in Bargarh district across the Mahanadi. All were returning after visiting the temple when the boat capsized.
The bodies were recovered after a massive rescue and search operation.

Police registered a case and arrested two boat operators.
The deceased were all from

Anjoripali village

in Chhattisgarh's Raigad district.
