NEW DELHI: Continuing its attack on Rahul Gandhi, a BJP delegation on Wednesday called on Election Commission seeking action against the Congress leader and an unconditional apology for his “fight against shakti” remark at a rally in Mumbai.
The party has also urged that an FIR should be lodged against Rahul and micro-blogging platform X be directed to delete the video of his speech.
“The obnoxious statement made by Rahul Gandhi has deeply hurt the sentiments of Hindus as it was rendered with malicious intention of insulting religious values and creates enmity among religious community. Further, the deed is jeopardising the peaceful environment, which may pose a serious challenge to free and fair elections,” BJP said through a delegation headed by Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

BJP also highlighted that Rahul made false allegations with respect to the authenticity of EVMs despite the pronouncement of SC as well as clarification issued by EC stating that the concerns raised are misconceived, devoid of merits and a regressive thought.
