NYPD squad car crash in Harlem injures child and officer: officials

NEW YORK (PIX11) – A child and officer were injured in a car crash involving an NYPD squad car in Harlem Thursday evening, authorities said. 

The car accident happened around 6:30 p.m. near W. 146 Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard. Officials said the NYPD struck another vehicle. A child was in the other car the squad car hit.

The officer and the child were both taken to area hospitals to be treated for minor injuries, police said. 

Details on how the car crash happened were not made immediately available.
