Ravi Kana, Greater Noida's biggest scrap mafia and steel smuggler, and his girlfriend Kajal Jha, have been arrested from Thailand.
According to the information, the Noida Police is going through the formalities to bring Ravi Kana and Kajal Jha to India. Both were absconding for a long time.
Noida Police had issued a lookout and red corner notice against the absconding duo. The police had received information that they had fled to Thailand. Since then, Noida Police has been constantly in touch with their Thai counterparts.
Gangster Ravi Kana has a gang rape case registered against him under the Gangster Act.
The police have been on the lookout for Ravi Kana since January 1, 2024, after a woman filed a rape case against him.
The police conducted raids on Ravi Kana's various possible hideouts, but he stayed at large.
Later, the police registered a case against Kajal Jha. A case was also registered against 14 others, including Ravi Kana's wife, who had already been arrested.
The police designated Ravi Kana as the kingpin of illegal activities while his girlfriend was also deemed to be an equal partner in his crime, according to a 500-page chargesheet filed in the court.
THE 11TH CASE THAT SPELT TROUBLE FOR RAVI KANA
Ravi Kana had 10 cases registered against him before an eleventh one was filed by a woman. This was a rape case filed against the gangster at Noida's Sector 39 Police Station, on December 30, 2023.
The complainant alleged that Ravi Kana was among the five people that raped her about six months ago and videotaped the act to threaten her.
The woman told the police that it was a few months ago when she was looking for a job.
This was when she happened to meet Rajkumar and Mehmi, Ravi Kana's associates, who lured her under the pretext of a job.
The complaint further stated that the duo took her to a place where Ravi Kana met her along with two of his other associates, Azad and Vikas, before she was raped by the five accused.
POLICE SEALS PROPERTY WORTH RS 350 CRORE
Noida {olice sealed the gangster's properties worth about Rs 350 crores in Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr and Delhi. This includes Ravi Kana's Rs 80 crore bungalow in New Friends Colony, Delhi, which he bought in the name of his girlfriend.
The Noida Police has also sealed 40 bighas of land in Khurja in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr.
According to the police, the accused had built this property from the money earned through various crimes they committed.
