NJ sheriff’s officer dies at state-owned building: prosecutors

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PIX11) – A New Jersey sheriff’s officer died on Friday at the Hudson County Administration Building in Jersey City, prosecutors said.

Officials did not confirm how the sheriff’s officer, who worked for the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, died.

"I would like to express my condolences to the family of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Officer who tragically passed away. My prayers also go out to the Hudson County Sheriff and all the Sheriff’s Officers, who lost a dedicated brother today," Hudson County Executive Craig Guy said in a statement.

An investigation into the death is ongoing, according to prosecutors.
