NEW DELHI: Parliamentary affairs minister
Pralhad Joshi
on Tuesday denied having said that finance minister
Nirmala Sitharaman
and foreign minister S
Jaishankar
would be among the Union ministers to
contest
the Lok Sabha polls.
"I only said that anybody can contest, and not specifically named anyone. It is a national party and our brass will decide. I have not said it like that," Joshi said a day after making the "unusual" assertion that Sitharaman and Jaishankar would contest the LS elections.
"It is appearing in the media.
More or less it is final that they (Sitharaman and Jaishankar) will contest Lok Sabha elections. It has not been decided yet from where they will fight, whether it is Karnataka or some other state," reports from Hubbali had quoted Joshi as saying.
