THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – Police are searching for a man after an MTA employee was attacked on a No. 4 subway in the Bronx Wednesday, according to the NYPD.
The attack happened near the 167th Street subway station around 11:30 a.m., police said. The on-duty MTA employee was approached by a man and struck in the face with a glass bottle, according to authorities.
The victim sustained an injury to the right side of her face, according to authorities. She was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln.
The man was last seen fleeing the location on foot, police said.
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced new safety measures for New York City subways on Wednesday, including installing more cameras and having state police and the National Guard aid the NYPD.
