Moving car catches fire at Delhi-Meerut Expressway, driver escapes unhurt

A major tragedy was averted after a moving car on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway suddenly caught fire, sending plumes of smoke billowing into the air.

A moving car on Sunday suddenly caught fire on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and within moments, it was engulfed in flames and completely burned down, officials said.

Video of the incident, which is being widely shared on social media, shows the driver promptly rushing out of the car as the fire rapidly spread. Huge plumes of smoke were seen billowing into the air as other vehicles on the highway continued to pass by.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames within minutes.

The burnt car was then moved to the side of the highway and the traffic congestion was cleared.

There were no reports of casualties or injuries in the incident.
