NEW DELHI: A
fire incident
occurred at a government school located in
Nihal Vihar
, outer Delhi, on Wednesday, as reported by officials. Fortunately,
no injuries
were reported due to the incident. The
Delhi Fire Service
(DFS) responded promptly, dispatching three fire tenders to the scene. The
firefighters
successfully extinguished the blaze within a span of thirty minutes.
An official from the DFS stated that they received a call at 10.14 am, alerting them about the fire at the Government Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya situated in Nilothi village.
The fire was in a store room, away from the main building where classes were going on, he said.
As a precautionary measure, some classrooms were evacuated when the fire erupted, a police officer said.
Some furniture and books kept in the store room were gutted in the fire but no one was injured in the incident, he added.
