NEW DELHI:
Giannis Antetokounmpo
,
Damian Lillard
, and
Khris Middleton
combined for 84 points, leading the
Milwaukee Bucks
to a 129-118 victory over the short-handed
Golden State Warriors
. The
Bucks
took advantage of the Warriors playing the second night of a road back-to-back without Stephen Curry, who was rested for the game.
Antetokounmpo led the scoring with 33 points, while Lillard contributed 27 and Middleton added 24 along with a game-high 10 assists, securing a double-double.
The Bucks, who had a well-rested week with their only previous game being a comfortable win over the
Boston Celtics
, capitalized on their fresh legs.
The Warriors, despite missing Curry, had three players score 20 or more points. Jonathan Kuminga led Golden State with 28 points, Brandin Podziemski recorded a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds, and Klay Thompson added 21 points.
The game was closely contested, with the Warriors holding a seven-point lead when Thompson hit a 3-pointer to make it 72-65 midway through the third quarter. However, the Bucks responded with a 10-0 run, regaining a 75-72 lead. The game remained competitive, with six ties, the last at 96-all in the fourth quarter. But the Bucks pulled away with strong plays from Antetokounmpo, Middleton, and others, securing the victory.
The win was significant for the Bucks, who had struggled in recent games, winning only three of their last seven. The Warriors, on the other hand, have faced challenges, losing seven of their last 10 games.
