Microsoft
has confirmed that the second edition of
Xbox Developer Direct
is set to be held on January 18. This will be the second edition of the event that started in 2023. Just like last year, Microsoft is expected to reveal its
Xbox
roadmap for 2024 at this event. At this event, the company will get an inside look at a selection of highly anticipated games coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass from different developers.
The event will be live-streamed on the official Xbox channels on YouTube and Twitch.
Updates about new Indiana Jones game and more
In a blog post, Microsoft has confirmed that
ZeniMax Online Studios
will host The Elder Scrolls Online 2024 global launch soon after the event.
The company also noted that the developers of the
Indiana Jones
game,
MachinesGames
(who is also behind the
Wolfenstein
franchise) is set to reveal updates about the upcoming title with “more than 10 minutes of game and developer insights,” at the Xbox Developer Direct 2024.
Just months before finalising its $7.5 billion deal to acquire ZeniMax Media the company announced the Indiana Jones game. This acquisition helped Microsoft to take the developer of Doom and
Fallout
studio
Bethesda Softworks
under its umbrella. In testimony produced during the FTC lawsuit proceedings, Microsoft revealed that the Indiana Jones game will be exclusive to Xbox and PC. The game is expected to be released in 2024.
Apart from Indiana Jones, the company will also invite developers of other games including Hellblade II, Avowed and Ara: History Untold to share updates about the development of each title. Microsoft has confirmed that there won’t be any updates on games from Activision Blizzard.
According to a report by The Verge, the company also may not share any details about Towerborne or Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
