Man struck by train after being bumped onto the subway tracks: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A man was struck by a train after being bumped onto the tracks in Brooklyn on Thursday, according to the NYPD.

The incident occurred at 11:04 a.m. at the Jay Street-Metro Tech subway station.

A southbound R train was entering the station when the man was intentionally bumped into the tracks, police said. The emergency brake was applied but it was too late. The man was taken to a local hospital.

A person of interest was taken into custody.

Southbound N, R, and Q trains are running with delays, according to the MTA.
