PELHAM PARKWAY, The Bronx (PIX11) – Police are searching for two men after a man was stabbed in a Bronx subway station overnight Thursday, according to the NYPD.
The stabbing happened around 12:50 a.m. at the Pelham Parkway station. A 53-year-old man stepped off a No. 2 train onto the platform when he saw the two men allegedly harassing a woman, according to authorities.
Police said the man stepped in to intervene when he was stabbed in the right hand by an unknown object.
He was transported to Montefiore Medical Center, according to authorities.
Police said one suspect was last seen wearing red clothing while the other was last seen in blue clothing. They fled the station in a white vehicle, according to authorities.
The stabbing follows Gov. Kathy Hochul's announcement of new safety measures for New York City subway stations.
