MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly assaulted a NYPD officer in Manhattan on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at around 12:50 a.m. at Second Avenue and East 60th Street.
Officers were trying to arrest the man for a past crime. The man punched an officer in the face multiple times before fleeing on foot, according to the NYPD.
The suspect is described as approximately 6'2'' with a slim build. Police say he was last seen wearing an army fatigue-colored hooded sweatshirt, an army fatigue baseball cap, and blue gloves.
