A 25-year-old man died of a heart attack when he and his newly-married wife were visiting the Delhi Zoo. His wife, unable to bear the shock of her husband's death, died by suicide when she jumped from the seventh floor of her home in Ghaziabad.

The incident took place on Monday when the couple, Abhishek Ahluwalia, a property dealer, and his wife Anjali, 22, visited the zoo on Monday.

During the visit, Ahluwalia suffered a heart attack and collapsed.

A panicked Anjali contacted her friends and family members about the incident, following which Ahluwalia was rushed to a hospital. However, doctors declared him brought dead after confirming the heart attack.

Ahluwalia's body was brought back home and Anjali started crying when she saw it and sat next to it, her family said.

She then rushed to the balcony and jumped from the seventh floor of the Elcon Apartment at Vaishali Sector 3 in Ghaziabad.

Anjali, who was a resident of Karawal Nagar in northeast Delhi, was rushed to Max Hospital.

She was later referred to AIIMS and later succumbed to her injuries.
