MARINE PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) --- A construction worker died after a roof of a Brooklyn building partially collapsed Thursday morning, police said.
The 43-year-old man was found unconscious in the debris after the building's roof caved in at 3223 Quentin Rd. in Marine Park at around 8:50 a.m., according to the NYPD.
The victim was rushed to the hospital in critical condition but could not be saved, police said.
The two-story building with a commercial unit was under construction, according to the Office of Emergency Management. Workers were repairing a refrigeration unit in the first-floor restaurant when the collapse happened, officials said.
Authorities found the worker trapped under a heavy slab of concrete in the back of the restaurant.
