Rajeshwar Nishad
severed his own tongue as an offering to god. The incident occurred in the morning under the jurisdiction of Anjora police chowki, according to a local police official.
Based on initial reports, Nishad went to a nearby pond in the village, where he recited mantras before cutting off his tongue with a knife and placing it on a stone at the water body's edge.
Villagers discovered him bleeding in the temple and promptly called for an ambulance, which transported him to the district hospital for treatment.
Police were notified of the incident and a team was dispatched to the location. Villagers reported that Nishad's wife is mute, and he sacrificed his tongue as an offering to lord Shiva in hopes of fulfilling a wish. However, the precise reason behind his actions remains unclear, the official stated. The knife used by Nishad has been recovered by the police.
