SHAMLI: A 33-year-old woman was
arrested
on Saturday after her 35-year-old
husband
succumbed to his
injuries
following an alleged
assault
by her, said police. The incident took place in Lilaun village under Shamli Kotwali jurisdiction.
Anit Kumar’s body was found at his house on Friday with signs of bleeding from his nose. On information, police and a forensic unit arrived at the scene and sent the body for the autopsy.
Meanwhile, Kumar’s family members accused his wife, Anu, of subjecting him to abuse and harassment. They alleged that Anu assaulted Anit during a heated argument causing him to fall and sustain severe head injuries, which ultimately led to his demise.
Acting on the complaint of the victim’s older brother, Vipin Kumar, police charged Anu with unintentional homicide. SHO Samyapal Atri said an FIR has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC. SP Abhishek (goes by his first name) said an investigation is under way.
