Maidaan Box Office: Ajay Devgn starrer earns less than a crore for two days in a row

After a fantastic start to the year with a film like Shaitaan,

Ajay Devgn

’s second release of the year is struggling at the box office despite releasing on the festive occasion of Eid. The film in the extended first week earned just Rs 28.35 crore which is a very underwhelming score, given the numbers one has witnessed for Eid releases. The film entered its second weekend on the same speed as it gained in its first week, but the moment the film hit the weekdays the film crashed even further.
The film, on its second Friday, earned Rs 1.45 crore, while on Saturday it earned Rs 2.65 crore and on Sunday, the film made Rs 3.15 crore, taking the weekend total to Rs 7.25 crore.

But on Monday the film crashed to Rs 70 lakh and on Tuesday, it saw a minor jump to collect Rs 75 lakh, as per early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk. The total collection of the film now stands at Rs 37.05 crore, while the reported budget of the film is Rs 250 crore.

which lasted from 1952 to 1962, the film was backed by

Boney Kapoor

and directed by

Amit Ravindernath Sharma

of

Badhaai Ho

fame. Besides Ajay Devgn, the film also stars Priya Raj Mani, Chaitanya Sharma aka Rapper SlowCheeta and

Gajraj Rao
