NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Stargazers get ready for a show as the Lyrids meteor shower is set to light up the sky this month.
The Lyrids meteor showers will be the brightest in the sky on April 21 and April 22. While the meteor shower will be ongoing until April 26, the show will be most visible to stargazers next week.
According to the American Meteor Society, the Lyrids are a medium strength meteor shower meaning they may not have bright trails but can produce fireballs.
To get the best view of the meteors look away from the Moon during predawn hours, the Farmer's Almanac suggests.
The next meteor shower, Eta Aquarid, is expected to be visible around May 4.
