NEW YORK (PIX11) - Will the real Jalen Brunson please stand up?
Fifteen Brunson lookalikes tried their luck at impersonating the New York Knicks Point Guard Monday night during a contest on the steps of the Moynihan Train Station across from Madison Square Garden.
Miracle Pierre, who came in from Bloomfield, New Jersey, said, "I already had the locks, the hair twisted up." His outfit was on point, too, as he described it: " You know, the compression pants, the sleeve."
Anthony Hemmings from Queens said "The Knicks is putting some energy into the city right now that is much needed and you got to love it."
The marketing team at the Sports App Novig organized the Lookalike contest. The guys at the sports comedy Last Take Show served as Judges. Comedian Rashad Bashir, who was acting as Stephen A. Smith, said PIX 11 News, "I'm looking at some of these guys, and I'm like, did you play last night? You need to stay out of foul trouble, that's all I'm saying. That's heavy competition out there."
One contestant came dressed as a goat, saying Brunson is the GOAT, or Greatest of All Time. There was even a dog with a Knicks Jersey and braids.
In the end, Zachary Davidson of Astoria, Queens, won the competition. He will get two free tickets to Game Five. Davidson said, "It will be my first Knicks Game in MSG. I'm excited, so excited."
