Lok Sabha elections Phase 6: Why did Jaishankar receive certificate after casting his vote in Delhi

NEW DELHI: External affairs minister (EAM)

S Jaishankar

cast his vote in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections in New Delhi and also received a

certificate

for being the first male voter at his polling booth.
"I was the first male voter in this booth," said S Jaishankar while displaying his certificate.

Additionally, the EAM said that he is confident that the voters of Delhi would once again support the Modi government in the elections.

"We want people to come out and cast their votes as this is a decisive moment for the country. I'm confident that the BJP will come back to power in the polls," said EAM S Jaishankar.

Voting

for the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections is underway for eight seats each in Bihar and Bengal, seven in Delhi, ten in Haryana, four in Jharkhand, fourteen in Uttar Pradesh, and the final seat in Jammu & Kashmir's Anantnag-Rajouri constituency, where polling was rescheduled from the third to the sixth phase.
