Jackie Shroff
garnered attention today by filing a case in the
Delhi High Court
regarding the
unauthorized use
of his name, images, and iconic catchphrase 'bhidu'. He protested against the exploitation of his identity for commercial gains. As soon as the news broke about the Bollywood star moving to the Delhi High Court, many fans and followers began questioning whether
Krushna Abhishek
will still be able to impersonate the actor.
Krushna Abhishek's wife,
Kashmera Shah
, was bombarded with questions on social media about the same. In her latest Instagram post, the actress addressed the matter.
She took to her Instagram and shared a photo of Jackie Shroff and Krushna Abhishek and wrote, "To all the disappointed fans that have been messaging us I just want to tell you all that please understand that IMITATION IS THE HIGHEST FORM OF FLATTERY. Krushna loves #jaggu dada @apnabhidu @krushna30."
Many of Krushna's fans and Kashmera's friends like Rohit Verma, Bhakhtyar Irani dropped comments on the post and mentioned how they love watching Krushna Abhishek as Jaggu Dada. Bhakhtyar even shared that it is Krushna, who gave a new dimension to look at Jaggu Dada. Bhakhtyar commented, "He started it and made it larger than life...let's be honest @krushna30 gave a new dimension to look at jaggu dada and jeetu ji..."
Forth uninitiated, not many know that it was Jackie Shroff, who played a pivotal role in Kashmera and Krushna's love story. He was the one who started teasing them while Krushna was working on his debut film, Pappu Paas Hogaya where Kashmera was his heroine.
During Bharti Singh and Haarsh Limbachiyaa's Podcast, Krushna revealed that Kashmera was the first one who saw him mimicking Jackie Dada, "One day, I received a call from Jackie Shroff Dada's secretary about a film called "Pappu Paas Hogaya." They informed me that Kashmera Shah would be my co-star. Excited, as I had seen her song from the film Jungle, "Patli Kamar". I knew of her. On set, the producer had arranged a five-star hotel for Jackie Shroff and Kashmera, while I stayed in a regular hotel. That's where I met Kashmera for the first time. Jackie Dada started teasing both Kashmera and me. Kashmera was the first person who saw me mimic Jackie Dada. Little did I know, I would end up doing many acts on him and earning lakhs."
On Tuesday, Jackie Shroff approached the Delhi High Court to challenge the unauthorized use of his name and personality attributes by various entities for commercial gain. The counsel representing the actor objected to the "misuse" of his personality and publicity rights, citing the sale of merchandise, ringtones, wallpapers, and the creation of "insulting" memes and GIFs, as well as the use of artificial intelligence.
