,’ is gearing up for a theatrical release on July 12. Ahead of the release, the makers hosted an

event at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai yesterday (June 1). The event grabbed attention due to

Kamal Haasan

and

Silambarasan

's proud speeches.
Kamal made a fiery statement that his identity is being a

Tamilian

and an Indian, adding that this is the same for the audience as well.

He called it the main concept behind the sequels. According to The Hindu, Kamal Haasan further added that divide and rule is a British concept, which worked back then because they had a home to go back to. It will no longer work. The actor wondered where those trying to do the same today would go.

Kamal expressed a vision of a future where a Tamilian could lead India, emphasizing the importance of

national unity

. He highlighted the inclusivity and hospitality of Tamil Nadu, suggesting that if Tamilians can welcome others into their state, it is conceivable for a Tamilian to govern the entire country. The actor underscored the idea that all cities belong to all citizens and that everyone is connected, stressing the necessity of maintaining the nation's unity.
At the same time, Silambarasan called Kamal his Guru. He mentioned that he had just come from shooting for ‘Thug Life' with Kamal and felt that ‘Indian’ had tapped the commercial formula to be a hit. He has watched it many times and cannot wait for the sequel. Silambarasan emphasized that if his father, actor-director T. Rajendar, is his guru behind the camera, Kamal is his guru on-screen. He shared his unmeasurable excitement to be working with Kamal in the upcoming Mani Ratnam film. The actor further clarified that before people talked about ‘Pan India,’ Kamal had done films in various languages, so the title 'Indian' is truly apt for him.

Directed by S. Shankar, ‘Indian 2’ is the sequel to the 1996 movie with the same title. Kamal will reprise his role as Senapathy. The sequel will feature Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, and Rakul Preet Singh in the main roles. The recently hosted audio launch was a star-studded affair attended by Shankar, Kamal Haasan, Anirudh Ravichander, Rakul Preet Singh, and Kajal Aggarwal, along with Silambarasan TR, Lokesh Kanagaraj, Nelson Dilipkumar, Bobby Simha, and Brahmanandam.
