NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Expect the month of June to kick off under bright skies and mild conditions.
The sun will be out in full force early Sunday, and then some clouds will mix in later. Temperatures will be pleasant as well, with afternoon highs in the mid-60s to low 70s.
For fans of astronomy, be sure to turn your view to the sky tonight as an appearance of the Northern Lights will be possible.
In addition, today, June 1st, marks the beginning of Hurricane season. Fortunately, though, the tropics are quiet at the moment.
More sunshine and seasonable conditions will be in place tomorrow. Temperatures will reach the low to mid-70s. A big warm-up will then take place as high pressure parks itself to our south.
Afternoon highs are expected to be in the 80s for most of the week, and some areas could touch 90 on Thursday and Friday.
