in Uchana Kalan town, represented by deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala, held a protest in front of the SDM office seeking special girdawari and compensation for the
crops damaged
due to recent heavy rainfall and hailstorm in the region. Over 2,000 farmers gathered in tehsil premises of the town on Monday and held a demonstration. After the protest they submitted a memorandum to the SDM in the name of the chief minister seeking relief for the loss. They said that farmers of around 20 villages have faced 100 losses and 50 to 75 percent reported losses in another 20 villages. Moreover, numbers of villages have suffered less loss and farmers urge the Haryana government to carry out a special Girdawari. Officials said that loss is being assessed and action would be taken accordingly.
