investigation

team (SIT) sleuths probing the alleged

sex scandal

and

kidnapping

of a

rape victim

detained

MLA

HD Revanna

on Saturday evening. The

SIT

, led by Superintendent of Police P Simon,

detained

Revanna shortly after he emerged from the residence of his father and former Prime Minister HD Devegowda in Padmanabhanagar, the southern part of the city.

Amidst tight police security, Revanna was taken to the headquarters of the Criminal Investigation Department on Palace Road.
According to SIT sources, Revanna was picked up for questioning in connection with a case where a woman was allegedly kidnapped from KR Nagar, Mysuru district, on the directions of HD Revanna. The woman was raped by Revanna's son Prajwal, as per the first information report.
