Mumbai Indians stormed to the top of the
IPL 2025 points table
after a commanding 100-run victory over Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. It was a must-win game for both sides, but only one team showed up with complete dominance, as MI outclassed RR in every department to take their points tally to 14 from 11 matches with a healthy Net Run Rate (NRR) of +1.274 — the best among all teams so far.
With the win, Mumbai leapfrogged Royal Challengers Bengaluru, who also have 14 points but from 10 matches and an inferior NRR of +0.521. MI’s win not only strengthened their playoff chances but also gave a big boost to their momentum at a crucial stage of the tournament.

For Rajasthan Royals, the crushing defeat was a knockout blow. They are now officially out of the playoff race, having managed just three wins from their 11 games. Their NRR of -0.780 reflects the extent of their struggles throughout the season, especially in the second half where their batting and bowling both lacked consistency and firepower.
RCB, currently second on the table, remain strong contenders with four games still in hand. Punjab Kings follow closely at third with 13 points from 10 matches and a game in hand to push for a top-two finish. Gujarat Titans are also firmly in the mix with 12 points from nine games and an impressive NRR of +0.748.

Delhi Capitals, with 12 points from 10 games and a +0.362 NRR, are clinging onto the fifth spot, while Lucknow Super Giants have work to do. LSG sit at sixth with 10 points from 10 games and a negative NRR, meaning they must win their remaining matches and hope for favourable results elsewhere.
Kolkata Knight Riders, with 9 points from 10 games and one no-result, still have a mathematical chance but will need a perfect finish and some luck. As for Sunrisers Hyderabad (6 points from 9 games) and Chennai Super Kings (4 points from 10 games), their playoff dreams are fading fast, with CSK already eliminated.
