recently shed light on the impact of
Shahid Kapoor

Kareena Kapoor Khan
's
breakup
on the shooting of their romantic-comedy film
Jab We Met
. In an interview with Galatta India, Imtiaz said that
Shahid
and
Kareena
were absolutely professionals during the filming process post their split.
Addressing the speculation surrounding their personal lives affecting the shoot, Imtiaz clarified that the breakup occurred towards the end of the film's shooting schedule.
He stated, "They broke up at the end of the film. Most of the film was shot. There were two days after their so-called break-up that we had to shoot. They were absolutely professional. No blemish, nothing at all, whatever is happening in their personal lives." Shahid and Kareena dated for 3 years before their separation in 2006.

Imtiaz also shared insights into the casting process of Jab We Met. He revealed that initially,
Bobby Deol
and
Preity Zinta
were considered for the lead roles. However, due to various factors, including scheduling conflicts, the casting evolved, ultimately leading to Shahid and Kareena playing the iconic characters of Aditya Kashyap and Geet in the film.
On the special occasion of Valentine's Day 2024, the makers of Jab We Met decided to re-release the film in theatres for all the love birds. The film revolves around Aditya Kashyap (Shahid), a heartbroken tycoon, who aimlessly boards a train after attending his ex-girlfriend's wedding. On board, he meets Geet Dhillon (Kareena), a spontaneous girl who plans to elope with her lover and gets pulled into her rollercoaster life, gradually falling in love with her as she shows him more fulfilling and entertaining way of living.
